Crafty Christmas

So, a year ago, I went to the doctor's on December 22 and my OB/GYN stripped my membranes.  I met up with Bonnie for a lovely lunch and then did a little shopping at JoAnn's fabrics.  I bought a bunch of Christmas stuff that was on sale with a bunch of crafts in mind.  While shopping at JoAnn's, I started to feel a little strange and on the way home, I started having contractions.  I got home and realized that my house was a ridiculous mess, with 60% of my wrapping still not finished.  I got home, called Jer and got busy cleaning and trying to wrap presents.  The next day, I had a newborn.  Long story short, I did not get a chance to do any of my cool crafts I had planned!  This year, I opened my Christmas boxes and started decorating the house and I came across a bunch of craft supplies, felt, ornaments, clothespins, etc.  I could not remember at first what they were for!  I eventually remembered and even set to making the crafts I had set out to make the year before.  Here are some of the fruits of my labor...lol!
This is a Christmas tree shaped card display.  I bought the green felt, ornaments and clothespins with this in mind.  I wanted a cool way to display the cards we receive.  I just cut out the felt and glued it to some cardboard, then hot glued the clothespins on and the ornaments on top of that.  Easy breezy!

Okay, this I did not have in mind last year, but I love how it turned out!  We bought 4 pumpkins at Halloween, a "daddy" pumpkin, "mommy" pumpkin, "Fia" pumpkin and a "Nicholas" pumpkin.  We carved daddy, but not the others, so I asked Jer to spray paint them white and then we glued them together.  I painted the nose ( the stem of the pumpkin) orange and glued raisins on for the eyes, mouth and buttons.  I made the scarf and hat out of leftover green felt.
This was so easy, I just put all the ornaments and the peace sign on a wreath.  It felt good to finish crafts a year in the making!
