Tonight marks a landmark in my daughter's life. It is her first night sleeping in her big girl bed. A friend of ours, Belen, gave us her daughter's toddler bed and I brought it home today. Sophia liked it, but come bedtime could not decide where to sleep, in her crib or big girl bed. I cuddled up with her in her big girl bed (really comfortable, by the way!) and she "softed" my face. This is her new term for gently touching something. Ex. "Mommy, I want to soft him!" Meaning she wants to gently touch Nicholas. The other day, she wanted to "soft" some desert sand on our morning walk.
Well, of course I am traumatized that my baby is sleeping in a big girl bed, but at least I am not terrified that she is going to get a concussion or worse dropping herself on her head falling out of the crib. I guess it is all a part of the circle of life...
the quilt is pretty, did you make that?
ReplyDeleteLol, no, Virginia, it is one of my favorites! I wish I was that talented!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!! Such a big day, and she is very cute in her big girl bed! Then again, there is not a moment in that childs life that she hasn't been cute! You will have to update us on the rest of the night! Give Sophia and Nicholas the "softest" hugs from Auntie KaLee!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Aleena got a bed too! They are growing up way too fast. Can't wait to see you this month!
